WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?

 

We are a group of impactful people that realize our calling is to uplift others.  Everything we do has purpose, from the way we hire, the way we do business, the way we lift our guests, to the way we lift each other; even the products we choose, and the companies we partner with.

Hopefully if you are reading this, you’ve had a chance to read my story on the About page.  To briefly recap, I experienced a hardship in my life that broke my heart completely, and turned my life upside-down.  It was through that experience that I realized that the expectations and goals I had no longer mattered, and my purpose completely changed. 

Quickly, I understood a great need for both a strong career, a support team, and flexibility.  I had financial limitations, and I couldn’t afford daycare 5 days a week, so I had to do as much as possible in the little time I had child care for.. (and that is why I love this industry for so many different kinds of lifestyles- there is a HUGE capacity for flexibility).

It’s complicated to sum exactly why I live for what I do, because it has so many parts.  I think the biggest though are because I believe that everyone deserves a strong support system, people that believe in them and support their dreams, no matter what.  I believe in balance and flexibility to live and love your life. I believe in the understanding that life is messy, but navigating together is far better than doing it alone. I believe that when one succeeds, we all succeed.

SUMMARY

The role of the hair stylist is to provide guests with excellent service and to provide services such as shampooing, cutting, and styling of hair. In addition, the stylist will educate salon guests in all areas of product knowledge and styling techniques. They will also live and demonstrate the Emerge Design Studio core standards and beliefs in skill and customer service.

REQUIREMENTS FOR COSMETOLOGISTS OR ASSOCIATE COSMETOLOGISTS

  • Current Missouri cosmetology license 

  • Provide exceptional customer service to each guest by educating them on all products and services offered in the salon and by providing each guest with Aveda rituals during the service.

  • All Salon Services offered based on training.

  • Offer and Recommend appropriate products to allow guests to duplicate results at home, as well as give the guest a complete experience.

  • Keep work stations clean and sanitize tools such as scissors and combs.

  • Continue to develop new styling techniques.

  • Take advantage of educational opportunities provided by Emerge, ensuring minimum education requirements as posted are met, in order to maximize potential and future growth and success.

  • Be open to coaching and feedback from management.

  • Update and maintain customer information records, such as beauty services provided to ensure excellence in customer service.

  • Cleaning and upkeep duties of salon as assigned by Salon Management.

  • Work together as a salon team to maintain our positive, respectful, and friendly culture.
